Mister Krew,
June 26th 2011 - Mommy, Daddy, Kasyn, Grandma Flippence, Grandpa Flippence, and Aunt Abby went for a walk to the river in Franklin. Not only in hopes of getting you here but to also see the water level. It had been a very wet spring and with record levels of water we were concerned for flooding. Mommy was pushing brother in the stroller when she felt something drop. Mommy started having contractions regularly and decided that maybe it will happen tonight.
Mommy, Daddy and Kasyn went home to see if Mommy could sleep before you came. But when Mommy and Daddy got into bed and had barely fallen asleep Mommy's water broke (12:10 AM). I woke up your Daddy and told him it was time to go to the hospital. Daddy called Grandma and Grandpa Parkinson and told them we were on our way to drop big brother off.
When Mommy and Daddy finally reached the hospital and checked in (12:55AM) we had discovered that my contractions had stopped and we wouldn't be able to have Mommy put on pitocin until 5 AM. Mommy waited while Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa Flippence slept. Your little heart beat was hard to find and Mommy was concerned that the nurses wouldn't be able to know if there was something wrong.
Tricia was Mommy's nurse she was very nice and helped me feel better. She also put a heart monitor on your head in Mommy's tummy so we could hear you. She also started Mommy on medicine that made her contract so that you would come. (4:45AM) Once Mommy had pitocin, the water bag, and strep b medicine for about 5 hours Mommy decided to get the epidural. (9:45)
Mommy felt better for awhile and waited for you to come. While the nurse kept checking on you. Everytime Mommy would have a contraction your heart beat would slow down. The nurses and doctors kept coming into Mommy's room to have me move to see if you were distressed and if something may be wrong. They also had decided to put some more water around you so they had give Mommy more water. Thats when they found out that Mommy had to water sacks. Grandpa Flippence had gone home to get your Aunt Abby and to sleep for a few hours in his bed. When he and Abby came to visit Mommy at noon, Mommy had lots of pains and could feel you were ready to come. Tricia came into to find Mommy had fully dilated and you were ready to come but your heart rate was dropping very low.
Tricia called Dr. Kirkman and told him that we were ready. He made it to the hospital at 12:20 PM. Mommy was hurting because her medicine wasn't working. The doctor called for lots of other nurses and specialist to come in to take care of us. Grandma and Daddy were telling Mommy to push and that she could do it. Dr. Kirkman knew there was something wrong. Your heart beat wasn't normal and you weren't coming out like you should.
After Mommy pushed for a few minutes they found out that you weren't positioned right to come out and the cord was wrapped around your neck. Mommy finally pushed really hard so they could help you breath, and when you finally came Mommy felt much better and could focus on you. The nurses and Dr. Kirkman were surprised that you were so small. The nurses and specialist helped you breath and got all of your shots ready. They weighed you and measured you. You were 5 pounds 7 ounces and you were 19 inches long. You were born at 12:54 PM on June 27th which is Grandpa Flippence's birthday too. We named you Krew Robert Parkinson, you are named after your Grandpa Robert (Bob) Saxton.
They gave you to your Mommy and I held you for the very first time. Mommy kissed you and told you your name and told you how happy we were to finally have you here. But you weren't feeling so good. The nurses had to take you to the baby nursery and do lots of tests on you and to also warm you up under some lights. Because Mommy's medicine finally kicked in after you came, I was still numb and couldn't come visit you yet. So the nurses brought you in Mommy's room so they and Daddy could bath you. Mommy was so happy to see you again and make sure that you were going to be okay.
Mommy gave you lots of kisses and Daddy took really good care of you too. The nurses helped keep you healthy and warm. They kept checking your sugar and to see if you were jaundice. Mommy kept feeding you and telling you to get better so we could go home and play with brother Kasyn.
Kasyn came to visit you at the hospital that night along with your Grandparent's, Uncles, and Aunts. You were so beautiful and were getting stronger. We kept praying for improvement and you did so good.
Heavenly father blessed us that day. We are so glad that you were ok and Mommy got to bring you home. We love you baby Krew. And that is the not so gruesome story of your birth!!
